Anesthesia Crisis Management: An ASA-Endorsed Simulation Course
The Simulation Teaching, Academic, Research (STAR) Center offers a one-day simulation training course in anesthesia crisis management endorsed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) that fulfills Part 4 (Practice Performance Assessment & Improvement) of Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA®). Led by local experts in anesthesia and simulation-based training, this course provides invaluable hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating challenging anesthesia cases and incorporating crucial crisis resource management (CRM) principles.
Hands-On Experience & Real-World Scenarios:
Participants will actively participate in a series of carefully selected clinical scenarios, mirroring both common and rare critical events encountered in anesthesia practice. Each participant will serve as the primary anesthesiologist for at least one scenario, gaining crucial experience in leadership and decision-making under pressure. They will also observe and participate as secondary responders in other scenarios, fostering teamwork and collaborative problem-solving. Following each scenario, a structured debriefing session will analyze performance.

Master technical skills: Develop and refine your ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of anesthesia emergencies.
Enhance CRM skills: Improve your Crisis Resource Management skills through practical application in simulated high-pressure situations.

This course is ideal for anesthesiologists at all levels seeking to enhance their crisis management skills and fulfill their MOCA requirements.

2. Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
Cost:
$1500.00 per person, breakfast and lunch included.
Cancellation:
If course needs cancelled, you will be notified 3 weeks prior to event on September 12, 2026 At that time full reimbursement for course cost of $1500 will be issued.
